eBay Wholesale Buying Guide
By: Chris Robertson
eBay auctions offer a fantastic and fun opportunity to shop online and get great items at wholesale or near wholesale prices. Frequent eBay shoppers understand the game of buying and bidding well, but if you're new to eBay shopping, you should beware of the potential snares that can cause you to lose money. Let's explore eBay buying and how to recognize true wholesale bargains.
eBay Items Put to the Test
There are several ways to determine if you're really getting your money's worth when buying from eBay wholesale sellers. First, check out the brand names of products.
|
Are they off-brands or popular brand names you see at retail outlets? Are the items new or used? If the product is used, does the seller offer photos and a detailed description of the item?
The key to eBay buying is to find quality brand name products at low or wholesale prices. If you buy cheaper off-brand products, you'll soon realize the reason they were so cheap. They may break easily or may not work properly from the start
Only buy items that are well described by the seller to avoid later confusion or disappointment.
Seller Feedback |

|
Always read a seller's feedback before buying a wholesale auction product. Sellers receive feedback from their customers. This gives you a wealth of information at your fingertips to ensure a pleasant transaction. Feedback tells whether or not a seller is delivering the goods as promised and the condition of the items when they arrive at the customer's home.
The customers can leave feedback about how disputes are handled as well. If a dispute was handled in a timely manner and left the customer feeling satisfied, you can consider the seller to be a good one. A seller's true character often comes out when problems arise, and any seller that plans to operate a long-term business on eBay will have problems occasionally. Feedback will reveal how the seller handles these problems.
Wholesale Warning
Not every item labeled -wholesale- is actually priced at a wholesale level. Wholesale prices are usually far below average retail prices. You can easily compare these prices online at any retailer with a matching brand of the product. Keep in mind that the starting bid price might be well below wholesale but could easily go over regular retail during a bid war. Keep your cool when bidding and don't get caught up in the emotions of the moment. From the start, determine the absolute highest amount you are willing to pay, and stick to it.
Wholesale items might also have higher shipping and handling fees than regular-priced items, so beware of this as well. For instance, an item might cost only a few dollars in the auction, but its shipping might be extremely high for the item's size and weight.
Whether buying gifts, items for babies, kids stuff, computers, games, or any other item, use eBay as a resource to get the best quality item for the best possible wholesale price. You'll save time and money while benefiting from the wide variety of unique products found through online auctions.
